DESCRIPTION:Location: Boulder Public Library\nMeet a CU Scientist! \n11/18/2017 | 1-3pm | Boulder Public Library\nStop by the Boulder Public Library for Science Discovery’s 3rd annual Portal to the Public: Meet a CU Scientist event! Scientists from CU Boulder will be presenting their work through a series of hands-on activity stations. These CU Science Ambassadors represent a variety of STEM fields, including chemistry, evolutionary biology, environmental engineering, electrical/computer/energy engineering, chemical engineering, materials science and engineering, geography, mathematics, physics, psychology and neuroscience. Attendees will have a chance to explore the worlds of atmospheric particle science, plant microbe interactions, and try their hand at bending light!Portal to the Public is designed to prepare scientists to effectively communicate about their work to non-scientific audiences. This FREE Meet a CU Scientist event provides an opportunity for people in our community to talk one-on-one with scientists about the exciting research happening at CU. Although this event is open to all ages, the activities are most suitable for grades 3-12.\n
