The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, PA is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to conduct fundamental research in the areas of optical spectroscopy, microscopy and ultrafast probing of electronic and optical materials.
The candidate should have experience in ultrafast lasers and optics, spectroscopy, and preferably nonlinear optics. The candidate will conduct studies on Raman, magneto-optics, low temperature and high magnetic field microscopy, and ultrafast pump-probe experiments on strongly correlated electron systems, topological insulators, 2D materials, thin films and nonlinear optical crystals. The candidate is expected to actively collaborate with many research groups, conduct independent research, write journal papers and interact closely with graduate students.
A Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate in materials science, physics or other relevant fields is required by the effective date of employment.
