STROBE & PEAQS Undergraduate Seminar – Research and the Rez: Research Experiences as Professional Development
Professor Franklin Dollar (Dry Creek Band of Pomo Indians, Univ. Of California, Irvine) will tell his story of leaving the reservation to school and the transition into research. He will discuss research opportunities, how to find them, and how they can impact your life. Professor Dollar is an educational lead of STROBE, a PEAQs partner institution and NSF center which is working to develop pathways for students of various backgrounds to find their own career paths in optical science.
Dr. Dollar’s research group explores the physics of ultrafast laser plasma interactions to generate new means of looking at the world, to understand some of the most complex interactions in nature.
